Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs some coaxing to bring out classic notes of cassis, juicy plums, and cedar chest, followed by hints of dried mint and crushed rocks. The full-bodied palate delivers concentrated black fruit flavors with a firm, grainy texture and lovely freshness, finishing long and earthy. Full-bodied, with compact, firm tannins framing plenty of creamy blackcurrant and cassis fruits, it also offers notes of graphite and hints of mocha, with a cool, wet slate and saline mineral finish.
