This tiny block of Cornerstone Cellars Merlot was planted in 1990 in the highly acclaimed UC Davis Oakville Station in the heart  of “Cabernet Country." 

Located on the west side of the valley at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains, this vineyard takes its cue from its illustrious neighbors. The Oakville Station Merlot is one of the most versatile wines in our portfolio. While we love it for its luscious aromatics and smooth round texture in the mid-palate, it doesn’t need food to shine. It is a complex multi-faceted wine with loads of personality showing great depth, laced with layers of black cherry and toasty vanilla notes. A favorite of the winery staff, this Merlot holds up beautifully against any well marbled steak and is seductive on its own. We also love that it is a great companion to many savory dishes made with mushrooms and bacon.
